Let’s Build A Coffee Shop!

March 17, 2018

And not just any coffee shop; the best coffee shop in the world.

First, what does “the world” mean in this context? I’ve been reading Seth Godin lately, and he’s opened my mind to the idea that “the world” isn’t necessarily the earth; we all live in our own world, and that could be as small as a neighborhood or as large as a city, or larger. So when I say “best in the world”, I really mean “best in the Portland Metro Area” – but that doesn’t sound quite as inspirational, and in my view, if we do a good enough job, we just might be the best coffee shop on earth.

So let’s build the best damn coffee shop in the world!

For the foreseeable future, (slightly) unkommon is going to be a way for me to hash out ideas for this coffee shop publicly, almost as a way to hold myself accountable. If I can get feedback along the way, that’s great. If I don’t get a single comment or inquiry, that’s also great. In my history blogging, though, I have found that the internet has a funny way of connecting one with like-minded individuals who are interested in partnering up. So we’ll see what happens!

Maybe I’ll also post some things I learn from some books I’m reading, who knows, it’s my blog! Speaking of it being my blog, I’m not going to guarantee posting frequency one way or the other; it’s better to publish nothing at all than publish a waste of space. I’m not here to waste your time, assuming there’s anyone here who’s time I can waste.

See you soon!
